– Start log: Sunday, October 28, 2007 6:53:20 pm LC_MOO time –
Ian[213] walks into the room and down a couple of steps.
Simon[213] says, “evening”
Ian[213] drops 1028.
>> A red light on the 1028 flashes to indicate that it has been turned on and is now recording everything that is being said in Bulga FernGully <<
Ian[213] says, “Ah-Harrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!”
Ian[213] says, “G’devening!”
Ian[213] says, “A pirates treasure chest bet “O” forgot about the daylight saving
“
Simon[213] says, “haha was just wondering that myself”
Simon[213] says, “lets give him a few to see if he shows”
Simon[213] says, “brb need coffee”
Ian[213] says, “bring a chest of treasure with you too
“
Simon[213] says, “back”
Simon[213] says, “cup of coffee is close enough to treasure”
Simon[213] says, “hmmm he on msn?”
Ian[213] says, “chased him down on MSN. My guess was coorect”
Simon[213] says, “lol”
Simon[213] says, “he forgot the time change?”
Omid arrives.
Omid leaves for LC_MOO Welcome Lobby
Omid arrives from LC_MOO Welcome Lobby
Simon[213] says, “welcome to day light savings Omid”
Omid says, “Hi”
Omid says, “hehe yeah I just remember about it”
Ian[213] says, “Hi”
Ian[213] says, “So Omid, you wanna take us through POD task 3?”
Omid says, “Yea”
Omid says, “Another 2 hrs I’ll email it 2 you”
Omid says, “I’m just working on last question”
Ian[213] says, “So you did the Blogging bit?”
Omid says, “from memory I did it”
Omid says, “but simon showed me a simple way”
Simon[213] says, “which ways that?”
Omid says, “Like the way I did it iz right”
Omid says, “but there is a simple way in which others can understand”
Omid says, “No right or wrong just structure layout is different”
Simon[213] says, “ahh”
Omid says, “It’s posted there”
Omid says, “Simon did see it before”
Simon[213] says, “do u have a link to where its posted?”
Omid says, “http://ispg.csu.edu.au/moodle/blog/index.php?userid=71) “
Simon[213] says, “Ok so thats 3 and 4 correct?”
Ian[213] says, “er, what is that?”
Omid says, “what you mean?”
Ian[213] says, “it looks like a copy of exercise questions?”
Simon[213] says, “Dosnt he mean copies of your answers to any 3?”
Omid says, “yea said choose any ORL exercises and add them as test entires”
Omid says, “I just posted the questions”
Omid says, “However….”
Omid says, “It says to duplicate it but I can’t access CSU interact”
Omid says, “Keeping in mind I’ve only got moodle access”
Simon[213] says, “What about part 5?”
Ian[213] says, “Ditto”
Omid says, “Part 5?”
Ian[213] says, “The one that come after “4″”
Simon[213] says, “5. Each POD group should collate a Blog report into a single POD group report and post it onto the CSU PODs sub-forum. [Organise a time when members of your POD group can meet and do this step].”
Omid says, “basically we collate our pod work into one”
Ian[213] says, “Omid, I have a suggestion … we could, like, do that step now? (???)”
Omid says, “ok”
Ian[213] says, “First …”
Ian[213] says, “lets clarify “POD report” …”
Simon[213] says, “yeah thats what i was going to say”
Simon[213] says, “What exactly is he after?”
Simon[213] says, “a report on teh blogging tools is my guess”
Ian[213] says, “Anybody has a suggestion on whether the report is regarding the Blog entries or the Blog functionality (in MOO vs Interact)?”
Ian[213] says, “I feel it is the latter (i.e. blog functionality) …”
Ian[213] says, “because we could (and did) make completely differnt blog entries.”
Simon[213] says, “well and number 1 says “1. Examine the Blog and wiki tools at the ISPG MOODLE http://ispg.csu.edu.au/moodle/ and Sakai (CSU Interact) http://interactsws.csu.edu.au/portal“”
Simon[213] says, “so to me its a report on what you found”
Ian[213] says, “What do you want to do Omid?”
Ian[213] (drum roll)
Ian[213] says, “Omid? You there?”
Omid says, “Send me your responce about the tools”
Omid says, “I’ll put them together and post it 2 csu sub forum”
Ian[213] says, “Okay. We’ll send comments through via MOO as part of discussing this.”
Omid says, “It doesn’t say it needs to be discussed through moo”
Omid says, “either way moo or email”
Omid says, “Whateva makes your task easier”
Ian[213] says, “CSU Interact & frankly, I found this Blog tool to be hard to use. I cant seem to add the requisite three entries. Just one is appearing. Functionally it seems to attempt/support more capability andmore structure in the content (titles, absract, body, tags, etc) but since I cant publish some entries that seems of little use. Perhaps there is a limit to the number of entries I can submit and reached that limit & but if so surely it would notify me in some way. “
Simon[213] says, “Did you try clicking on new post?”
Ian[213] says, “Yes, but after hitting save it doesn’t appear
“
Simon[213] says, “Because I have 4 posts on mine as tests”
Simon[213] says, “that i just made then”
Simon[213] says, “Oh weird”
Simon[213] says, “The body does not appear for them”
Ian[213] says, “Me suspects there are some funny (illegal) character in my pasted copy which causes it to have side-effects.”
Ian[213] says, “But I didn’t have those problems with Moodle’s blog tool.”
Simon[213] says, “I tried it witht eh words “test body” and the body did not appear”
Simon[213] says, “It might be permissions on the site.”
Simon[213] says, “ok heres mine for interact”
Simon[213] says, “Interact”
Simon[213] says, “bah”
Simon[213] says, “stupid moo”
Simon[213] says, “Let me do moodle then I will email em to you both”
Simon[213] says, “Ok sent via email”
Ian[213] says, “Nice. I like the bit about Tags …”
Ian[213] says, “probably worth adding (Omid) that the appearance of the Tag Cloud within Moodle is very good. Didn’t see equivalent in Interact.”
Simon[213] says, “Ah yeah the tag cloud was different”
Ian[213] says, “I believe the the font size and boldness increase to reflect the higher number of uses of the Tag.”
Simon[213] says, “so more active topics are bolder”
Simon[213] says, “?”
Ian[213] says, “I believe so.”
Ian[213] says, “I suspect this is a “de-facto” view on most social computing site where Tagging is in use.”
Simon[213] says, “Yeah im kinda supprised to see it on moodle”
Ian[213] says, “Maybe its there on Interact but Hop hasn’t gotten round to configuring it yet …”
Ian[213] says, “Wouldn’t wanna roll up the sleeves in the Interact sys config documentation to find that one out though!”
Ian[213] (RTFB?)
Simon[213] says, “Well interact seems more formal then moodle”
Simon[213] says, “so it might not have it”
Ian[213] says, “I just a click around in Interact. I can’t see where they’d cram one in either (although, sure ther’d be a way).”
Ian[213] says, “I found Moodle blog easier to use because the options, buttons seemed better placed. Could actually get my entries published with least fuss.”
Ian[213] says, “Hey! Somebody made a comment way earlier in the course that “all blog tools are the same”…”
Ian[213] says, “It was a bit of a conversation stopper at the time…”
Ian[213] says, “But in retrospect now I have to say …”
Simon[213] says, “Well they appear on the surface the same”
Simon[213] says, “title, tags, body abstract”
Ian[213] says, “I’m seeing quite a bit of difference …”
Simon[213] says, “Such as?”
Ian[213] says, “If I’d have had to do this course using Interact or Moodle i wouldn’t have found it as compelling to keep an active blog …”
Ian[213] says, “as I did with wordpress : due to it being so much easier to use. “
Ian[213] says, “Instead I could put an RSS feed of my blog into the Interact or Moodle.”
Simon[213] says, “Does interact or moddle all you to input an rss feed tho?”
Ian[213] says, “After a quick click around … doesn’t look like it.”
Ian[213] says, “So, Omid, there’s a suggestion: instead of having Blogging functionality allow the aggregation of blogs using RSS.
“
Ian[213] says, “You still there?”
Omid says, “Yea you guys been awesome”
Ian[213] says, “… That way both platforms can leverage the best of breed wiki’s on the outside world. But …”
Ian[213] says, “(sorry meant blog, not wiki). But … big drawback: …”
Simon[213] says, “so these are almost blog lite “
Ian[213] says, “it measn that blog content would be publicly accessible as well. Whereas the hosted Blog would be private to the group.”
Ian[213] says, “I just them to be rather “blog hard”.”
Ian[213] says, “But you’re right …”
Ian[213] says, “They can’t be expected to be as good as the leading web blog sites.”
Simon[213] says, “So its almost like a message board”
Simon[213] says, “rather then a blog”
Simon[213] says, “would you say?”
Ian[213] thinking
Ian[213] says, “It comes across that way doesn’t it?”
Simon[213] says, “appears so”
Ian[213] says, “I think we covered Blogging!”
Simon[213] says, “indeed”
Simon[213] says, “got all that omid?”
Ian[213] says, “Omid, you okay to compile the report of comment and submit to the Forum?”
Ian[213] says, “(the CSU PODs sub-forum)”
Omid says, “Yea sure”
Omid says, “Just 2 double check whats the CSU pods sub forum link”
Omid says, “Better 2 be safe than sorry”
Ian[213] says, “http://forums.csu.edu.au/perl/forums.pl?forum_id=ITC213_200770_x_x_Sub1_forum&task=frameset“
Simon[213] says, “brb”
Omid says, “Thanks I’ll do that asap”
Simon[213] says, “carry on while i run and do this fast”
Omid says, “Will be posted tonight”
Omid says, “With question 6 I onwards its getting tricky for mw”
Omid says, “me”
Omid says, “I don’t have access in interact”
Omid says, “I can do it but….”
Omid says, “Just worried I won’t be able to supply enough information”
Omid says, “I gotta go soon”
Simon[213] says, “back”
Simon[213] says, “for 6 do we just use one persons essay?”
Omid says, “Who’s essay?”
Simon[213] says, “from assignment 1?”
Simon[213] says, “er from assignment 1″
Omid says, “but whos essay we going to use?”
Simon[213] says, “6. Using your essay on social computing developers from assignment 1, use the wiki tool at the MOODLE and Interact sites to build and edit a larger group essay on the same topic in each wiki.”
Omid says, “from assignment 1″
Simon[213] says, “well thats what im not sure if we do one each or jsut pick one persons.”
Simon[213] says, “Ian thoughts?”
Ian[213] ian back …
Ian[213] baby duty for a few mins ..
Ian[213] says, “How about use this one: …”
Ian[213] says, “http://ispg.csu.edu.au/moodle/mod/wiki/view.php?id=5&page=view/POD4“
Ian[213] says, “just update it during the week when you’re ready/have time.”
Ian[213] says, “I.e. to work in any extra info he have from you assignment 1 essays.”
Simon[213] says, “Sounds good as its already there”
Simon[213] says, “soo that should cover the wiki part”
Omid says, “I’ll do wiki part”
Ian[213] says, “EUREKA MOMENT!”
Omid says, “hey guys I gotta go my sister needs my computer for while”
Omid says, “I know whats required”
Omid says, “It will be edited/posted tonight”
Ian[213] says, “Anyhthing else required for atsk 4?”
Ian[213] says, “I beleive 4 is done.”
Omid says, “Task 4 is done”
Omid says, “But before I go”
Omid says, “How you guys finding the essay aprt?”
Omid says, “*part”
Simon[213] says, “Where did he want pod 4 posted?”
Omid says, “Forms A and B are attached postings in the ITC213 PODs sub forum”
Omid says, “Umm he didn’t say”
Omid says, “I’m thinking possibly our zope folder”
Simon[213] says, “im getting a session error”
Ian[213] says, “I think somebody already provided URL to the “All Groups Form B” on Moodle.”
Simon[213] says, “can someone paste it here please?”
Ian[213] says, “here: http://forums.csu.edu.au/perl/forums.pl?forum_id=ITC213_200770_x_x_Sub1_forum&task=frameset“
Omid says, “Guys I really got 2 go now”
Ian[213] says, “that’s the forum message, which explains, and provides a link to the actual location.”
Omid says, “I’ll leave the browser open for moo if while my sister uses my computer”
Omid says, “Will keep in touch guys”
Omid says, “Bye from here”
Simon[213] says, “later man”
Ian[213] ian back from baby duty …
Ian[213] needs to get in the hang of the “brb” thang.
Simon[213] says, “lol”
Ian[213] says, “Hey, I think we’re all done with POD task 3 and 4?”
Ian[213] says, “brb”
Simon[213] says, “hmm i think we might be”
Ian[213] says, “Back!”
Ian[213] says, “Having a rough nite with the little fella.”
Ian[213] says, “We’re all down with a bug.”
Ian[213] says, “Hey, did you install Vuze yet?”
Ian[213] says, “stop 1028″
>> The red light on 1028 goes out. The recorder in Bulga FernGully has been turned off. <<
Ian[213] takes 1028.
Ian[213] says, “Vuze transfers content faster than P2P clients. The DJ Mode ‘erotic dreams’ is nice.”
Ian[213] says, “test”
Ian[213] (asleep) has disconnected.
Simon[213] says, “back”

– Start log: Sunday, October 21, 2007 7:05:27 pm LC_MOO time –
Ian[213] big wave hello and a belly Ah-Haarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Ian[213] wonders if “O” will join Simon[213] says, “i didnt get any emails back from him did u?”
Ian[213] sips at milo, glows after a day in the sun, subsconciously listens to High5 music in the background (bad influence) Ian[213] says, “Got one saying he still doesn’t have access to Interact …”
Ian[213] says, “no indictation whether he’ll join tonight buut having read and replied to the email he’s aware of the date/time so we can but …”
Ian[213] says, “see what happens next …”
Ian[213] says, “not sure if it makes a different (even if he says he’ll arrive
“
Simon[213] says, “haha true”
Simon[213] says, “hmm just browsing some of these questions”
Ian[213] says, “me too, just bringing up Form A”
Simon[213] says, “wheres form a?”
Simon[213] says, “on the forums?”
Omid arrives.
Omid [to Hey]: guys I will be back in 15 mins Omid says, “hey guys be back in 15 mins”
Ian[213] says, “OMG! Omid!”
Ian[213] says, “Come back come back!”
Omid says, “Is that alright with you guys?”
Ian[213] says, “Form A is available on the sub-forum”
Ian[213] says, “And this is probably the focus of 50% of our work? http://interactsws.csu.edu.au/portal/help/main“
Ian[213] says, “(Omid, I suspect you’ll not be able to access that)”
Omid says, “Yea your right”
Omid says, “I can’t access it”
Omid says, “I spoke to hopper and he understands the situations”
Omid says, “I’ve tried everything even spoke to hopper and other members”
Omid says, “Still no success”
Simon[213] says, “where does it say what we evaluate?”
Ian[213] says, “We (POD4) do the last evaluation listed in Form A (Help & Documentation)”
Omid says, “Be back soon”
Ian[213] says, “(of Sakai and Interact)”
Ian[213] says, “In the “look” view of MOO you should see “POD task 4″, click that and all the instructions are in there.”
Simon[213] says, “oh dur it was in the title”
Simon[213] says, “lol i was looking in the text”
Ian[213] says, “Got me all this while too!”
Ian[213] says, “I been looking through the text wondering if i have the wrong end of the stick (again)
“
Ian[213] says, “Hey Omid, since you can’t access Interact … can you tell us where the Help and Documentation is in Moodle? URLs would be good.”
Simon[213] says, “They coulda atleast made this form have check boxes”
Ian[213] bummer!
Ian[213] says, “I say 10.1 is N/A.”
Simon[213] says, “agreed”
Simon[213] says, “10.2 Yes”
Simon[213] says, “10.3 yes”
Ian[213] says, “FYI, our results go in here: http://ispg.csu.edu.au/moodle/mod/wiki/view.php?id=5&page=CLICK+HERE“
Simon[213] says, “cool”
Simon[213] says, “lets compile them first thats going to take the longest”
Ian[213] says, “need to break answer down per platform (1=Moodle, 2=Interact)”
Simon[213] says, “do interact first while were waiting for O”
Simon[213] says, “thats the ones i been answering anyway”
Ian[213] says, “yes. let’s do that. race you (should be 10-15mins?)”
Simon[213] says, “or u just wanna spit em out in here?”
Simon[213] says, “that way if we get stuck we can deal as we get to it”
Omid says, “Back guys”
Omid says, “fill me in”
Ian[213] says, “10.4 1. N no alt text 2. Y (sometimes alt text)”
Simon[213] says, “none”
Ian[213] says, “you mean N/A (as in, their not ambiguous)”
Simon[213] says, “well theres no alt text for the options on the left”
Simon[213] says, “explaining what they are”
Ian[213] says, “in interact there’s sometimes Alt Text on the main body options”
Ian[213] says, “SORRY, in Moddle, not Interact”
Simon[213] says, “so thats a no for interact”
Simon[213] says, “lol”
Ian[213] phew
Ian[213] says, “10.5 …”
Ian[213] says, “1. N”
Ian[213] says, “2. N”
Ian[213] says, “(But pages and forms are sufficiently self explanatory)”
Ian[213] says, “10.6 … Dejavu! Pass.”
Simon[213] says, “10.6 items have a more detailed explination”
Simon[213] says, “when u click on them in the support center”
Ian[213] says, “I don’t understand”
Ian[213] says, “(BTW, we’re half way through
“
Simon[213] says, “When you select one of the help options tehres a detailed explination of what the section is about”
Ian[213] says, “Omid, how you going with Moodle eval?”
Simon[213] says, “so i had 10.6 as yes”
Ian[213] says, “Ah! I see. And you have Interact as Yes, Moodle as No?”
Omid says, “I’m in the process now for moodle”
Omid says, “just finding it difficult finding help and documentation”
Omid says, “for moodle, of course”
Ian[213] says, “R U Sure?”
Simon[213] says, “no just interact. wernt we doing one at a time?”
Omid says, “I can’t access interact”
Ian[213] says, “10.7 1. N 2. N “
Omid says, “just to make sure you guys doing form A or B?”
Ian[213] says, “No memory aids in either. Clicks are primary and only means of NAV.”
Ian[213] says, “(Form A)”
Simon[213] says, “A”
Ian[213] says, “10.8 1. Y 2. N”
Simon[213] says, “agree”
Simon[213] says, “agree “
Simon[213] says, “10.9?”
Simon[213] says, “i said yes to interact”
Ian[213] says, “agree”
Ian[213] says, “Moodle N/A”
Ian[213] says, “(not help!)”
Ian[213] says, “(er, meant No Help)”
Simon[213] says, “does moodle even have help ?:P”
Ian[213] says, “Nope!”
Omid says, “Moodle doesn’t have help”
Ian[213] says, “Omid you’re a legend.”
Ian[213] says, “Let’s assume 10.10-12 relate to the help.”
Ian[213] says, “(Which I’m pretty sure it does)”
Ian[213] says, “10. Interact=Y Moodle=N/A”
Ian[213] says, “2nd Try: 10.10 Interact=Y Moodle=N/A”
Simon[213] says, “yep yep”
Ian[213] says, “10.11 same”
Ian[213] says, “10.12 same”
Ian[213] says, “(now we’re half way through)”
Simon[213] says, “agree”
Simon[213] says, “13 – 19 i had yes for interact”
Omid says, “13-19 could be yes for moodle”
Ian[213] says, “Ah, I suspect we should backtrack on 10.12. I think Interact merits an N instead of a Y.”
Ian[213] says, “Because I find it isn’t solving my problems. For example I read through it trying to figure out how to create my own Wiki page and its just not clear.”
Simon[213] says, “ahh”
Simon[213] says, “goo dpoint”
Ian[213] says, “So revising 10.12 to Interact=N Moodle=N/A”
Simon[213] says, “kk”
Ian[213] says, “Omid, curious why you thing 13-19 should be Y for Moodle?”
Ian[213] says, “(meant thinK, not thing)”
Ian[213] listens to some funky ass Armin Van Buuren Simon[213] says, “i listen to him
“
Ian[213] says, “then you’ll also like or already listen to DJ Mode.”
Ian[213] says, “:)”
Simon[213] says, “Havnt heard him”
Simon[213] says, “ill dl err buy some”
Ian[213] says, “Trying Vuze P2P I believe it’s all ligit.”
Ian[213] says, “I was looking a 10.13 (+14 to 18) from perspective of the Help sitelet, but maybe it’s about the overall platform. What do you guys think?”
Omid says, “do you disagree with moodle being yes for 13-19 Lan?”
Omid says, “19 is N/A sorry”
Ian[213] says, “19 agree”
Omid says, “you agree with 19?”
Ian[213] says, “I agree with “19 is N/A sorry”"
Omid says, “how about 13-18?”
Ian[213] says, “I think 13 is N for both Moodle and Interact because for example it doesn’t actually explain what a Blog, Wiki, etc etc is. So I doubt if my Grandma could use it.”
Ian[213] says, “:)”
Omid says, “I reackon my grandma could figure it out”
Omid says, “If she has her reading glasses with her”
Omid says, “P”
Simon[213] says, “haha”
Ian[213] says, “So it WAS grandma who did POD task 3?”
Omid says, “who’s grandma?”
Omid says, “mines cooking at da moment”
Ian[213] says, “As Ali_G wud say “me Nan”.”
Omid says, “what did you get for 13-18?”
Omid says, “with moodle?”
Ian[213] says, “Not all students (e.g. agriculture, police faculties) would know what a wiki or blog is … so I really feel 13 is N.”
Simon[213] says, “i didnt look at moodle yet looking now”
Ian[213] says, “In this sense I don’t feel Interact or Moodle are as “Mature” as other examples of those functions (or the help/documentation) thereof.”
Ian[213] says, “Whadaysay now? Downgrade 13 to an N for both Interact and Moodle.”
Ian[213] says, “I’d be concerned about glossing over.”
Ian[213] says, “Hopper might be using these finding to conduct serious recommendations.”
Ian[213] says, “”The students said the help was okay”"
Simon[213] says, “well he did seem pretty keen on getting this part done”
Ian[213] says, “So 13 is N …. ?”
Simon[213] says, “well the information in the help section is relevant isnt it?”
Simon[213] says, “because isnt our part predominently looking in the actual help section rather thenthe site in general”
Omid says, “Can be relevant”
Omid says, “I mean you can chat through moodle if CSU interact doesn’t work”
Ian[213] says, “Maybe I’m being too harsh. Okay, there is information there and some of it is useful. But I’d like to include comment “Some areas need improvement”.”
Omid says, “Yep agree”
Ian[213] sold to the man in the WRX
Ian[213] says, “That is for Interact. But Moodle still has no help/doco…”
Ian[213] says, “so that’s an “N” … agree?”
Ian[213] ?
Omid says, “moodle has no help/doco”
Omid says, “So sold Ian the big man”
Simon[213] says, “agree”
Simon[213] says, “i cant believe they have no online help in the software”
Omid says, “I reackon think the programmers need assistance”
Ian[213] says, “Are we perhaps missing something?”
Ian[213] says, “It just seems so … odd?”
Omid says, “what you mean sunshine?”
Ian[213] says, “Afterall, Moodle has such a high adoption rate.”

Essay
Currently I work at the University of Newcastle, in the IT department. The only CSCW application we currently have in place is a product that doubles as our email applicaiton. The product is Novell Groupwise which allows users to email, calendar both shared and personal and share files through the use of a cobinet system which is a shared folder that resides on the server.
Novell Groupwise is probably not the best applicaiton that I have used for CSCW having been given experience with various other systems throughout this course. The role that I perform within this system is that of a member of the IT team where we use email for correspondance and sharing minutes for meetings within the cabinet. This system in the CSCW format will need to be upgraded soon due to the inflexible nature of the product. There are a number of much better collaboration tools available today that would make work alot easier.
The main policies governing the use of this system are a fairly standard corporate email policy. This email policy limits the interactions of the users within the system greatly as any and all correspondance is kept to a professional manner. In a less strict system this would foster the growth of a more team environment by allowing collegues to both work and play and build up a community and team mentatily.
The three strengths of Novell groupwise are:
Its sharing capabilities – Calendar, files
Its instant delivery – messages arrive in almost real time keeping important information flowing.
Ease of use – as it is very similarly laid out to a standard email applicaitons most users are very familiar with its use.
The three weaknesses of the application are:
Its in flexibility – does not allow adaption and adoption of the changing world
lack of public communication – A forum would be a great way to share information and allow people to search through past topics easier.
Permissions – Creating a shared folder it is difficult to allow multiple people access to this folder.
The retension of information through the use of the system is the most difficult aspect. As the main form of communicaiton is via email this makes locating past information more difficult.
Improvements could range from adding better communication tools e.g blogs, forums, and an improved search feature that would allow locating information to be located alot easier.
More recently many of our team members have started using a social networking website called face book. This website is alot more along the lines of some aspects that could be incorporated into a work CSCW. This tool allows each user to have their own profile and communicate with other members of the team. Through the use of this website I have felt a much bigger bond with fellow co workers. As many members of our team are geographically located around Newcastle and the Central Coast this allows us to communicate with each other as well as providing some socaial interaction within the team.
Ideally I believe all aspects of CSCW and social networks can be incorporated effectivly into the workplace environment to aid in building a team mentatilty, providing members within the team accurate and up to date information as well as creating an information repository for new members coming onto the team.
